SaintsPhil
Afternoon everyone, Well the matchbox kit is getting to the slow progress stage waiting for putty to dry etc. So I thought I'd start another! The fantasic Fujimi kit, compared to the matchbox offering....well there's no comparison! With the addition of these: I hope it'll look like this: http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Mc...ntom/1801302/L/ Right sprues off for a soapy wash! SaintsPhil
Progress! Question at the end too: Seats are just resting in place Now for the question, in the FGR2 I thought the rear seat didn't have any side consoles but Fujimi provide very nice detail. Should I remove it? It looks like the side panels won't fit well otherwise... Phil
Harry Lime
Nice start to a nice kit. It's an absolute gem and I've got 4 in the stash, one of which was going to get wheeled out for this group build. I was toying with the idea of doing the one you're now doing, but since you've beaten me to it, I think I'll do something completely different! According to both my Verlinden Lock On 10 and my Aeroguides, the rear seat should have a couple of small side panels, but not as big as the front. On a different note, would you be willing to sell me the Hawk decals for XX163 from that sheet? I had a bit of a disaster with mine and they're proving as rare as rocking horse poo to get hold of a second set so I can properly finish it. PM me with details if you're able to oblige... Mark. SaintsPhil
Thanks Mark, sorry I nicked your scheme! I've got the aeroguide but the pictures of the rear seat seem to be limited and those that are there seem to be of FG1s.... I guess I'll just have to take my time fitting the pit and side walls and remove only what I have to of the detail, seems a shame to remove any! PM inbound on decals! SaintsPhil
Ok update time! I've been distracted by the Harrier GB, but finally got round to building her up so just about all the main airframe is together. Just got to fit the intakes and some details before shes ready for primer! I hesitantly removed the side panel details from the tub, such a shame to remove all that detail, but it's not there on thr FGR2 and the side panels fit much better! Not that you can see but here's a pic of the pit in the fuselage. Got to get moving on both my entries as we've just in the process of buying our first house, which is a bit of a project so I may have to take a modelling sabbatical to takle a 1:1 scale project! SaintsPhil
Update time! It's blue! Excuse the bad photo it was taken last night with my phone! Next up the exhaust area metallics. I've had a slight change of plan with the finish, it'll still be blue (as you can probably guess!!) but it'll now be the 19 sqdn aircraft, as I was a bit suspicious of the decals I had planned to use! Thanks for looking Phil
