Calum Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) It's done. Finally. The 80-20 rule really kicked in here as it took me ages to finish the last 20% of the build. Some details Kit - Hasegawa FGR-2 Decals - Airdoc, stencils and main markings. Also used some from the Hasegawa Kit. RBF tags are from Fightertown Paint - Mr Color Lacquers and Alclad Gloss - Tamiya Flat - Dullcoate Wash - Promodeller mixture of white and dak dirt. Cockpit - Aires Wheels - Aires Intake Blanks - Two Mikes Undercarriage - SAC Gun Pod - true details (pretty average) Sidewinder covers - Dr Pepper Weathering - done with Pastels Sidewinders - From The Revell F-15E kit Skyflash - modified from Hasegawa F-15C kit Anyway, onto the pictures More photos Here Build thread is here Edited June 1, 2011 by Calum 3
Vulcanicity Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 One word: LUSH. You've made a potentially dull finish (the Air Defence grey) work on so many levels with your finishing work, weathering, etc.
IainA Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) Very, very nice indeed. Edited March 28, 2011 by IainA

robw_uk Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 mmm delicious.... understated all over that is....
gishuk Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 yes i suppose thats quite nice fantastic phantom, one of the best ive seen
Peter W Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 A lovely looking Phantom and nicely weathered, not too much and not too little, perfect. It's always a sign of a good build when the close up photography doesn't show anything bad and yours looks flawless. Are the pictures taken on an SLR? If yes then you might want to clean your cameras sensor as there's a lot of dust on it, which shows up in the bright parts of your pictures. Don't want that comment to detract from the build though, it doesn't. Pete
AjD Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 What a fantastic finish, and a worthy scheme. Easily one of the nicest Phantoms I've seen. The only time I built one of these I had to give it away regretably. Make sure you hold on to that one - it's a 'keeper' for sure! Great job.
Rich F Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Superb job, lovely finish I've got one of these in the stash, hope mine turns out half as good as yours.
speedy Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Brilliant example of what can be done to a grey jet.
Jabba Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Can only add to what the others have already said, well done.
Calum Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks all. most appreciated. Are the pictures taken on an SLR? If yes then you might want to clean your cameras sensor as there's a lot of dust on it, which shows up in the bright parts of your pictures. Pete yeah I do need to get that looked at.
