July 1974 George McCrae was No1 in the uK charts with "Rock Your Baby", Harold Wilson and the Labour Party were in power and West Germany was hosting the World Cup. Meanwhile in at Churchill Barracks, Lippstadt M109 01CC38 returned from driver trainng, looking a little worse for wear due to the enthusiastic handling of the Gunner driver who slammed it through every muddy puddle, mud patch and stream he could find in the driver training area, in response to the TRG BSM's command of "Go on son give it some yee-haa you'll not break it!"

Now back at Barracks the pleasant task of clean up awaits...deep joy.
