Paul Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I will be trying to complete the new-ish Airfix Mig 15 in 2 12 hour sittings. Not sure yet whether to go for the nmf Soviet markings or go for broke with the stripey green and sand over black North Korean example.

Paul Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 i bought that kit, want to know what instantly jumps out on major errors do you what to find out yourself lol I think given the timescale that any heads up you have would be useful!
mrcooljules Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think given the timescale that any heads up you have would be useful! i dont want to spoil the fun for you...i mean its only a hobby and for fun. things that stand out, are the main wheels, same size as the front and the wings, the rear side where it attactches to the body, it doesnt angle off but just meets it at the same angle. few little niggles shape wise, but apart from that i hadnt looked further.
AnonymousDFB1 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Nice one Paul you'll do it easy in 24 hours
robw_uk Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 would love to see the striped version.... may consider getting it myself......
Paul Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 mrcooljules - Thanks for the info, I'll check references for the undercarriage. Mish - Thanks Mish, looking forward to this one. Robw_uk - I'll give the stripey one a go then, should have plenty of time using Tamiya acrylics.

Paul Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 And I'm off, doing a 10 till 10 shift today. I thought I'd start with dipping the canopy in Klear so as to let it dry and harden well before masking this afternoon (according to the plan anyway!)

Paul Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 A bit more progress, first the completed cockpit And then the cockpit, intake and exhaust bits glued into one side of the fuselage
Paul Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 It looks suspiciously like a MIG 15 now, but I can't seem to log in to photobucket atm.
CPNGROATS Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Paul, nice progress on the MIG, BTW, that's a seriously large alarm clock...!! BlitzBCheers, ggc
Paul Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Paul, nice progress on the MIG, BTW, that's a seriously large alarm clock...!!BlitzBCheers, ggc Its the only clock I have other than my mobile and the DVD player; difficult to focus on the model in the photos with that in the background though! I'll be leaving it here for the night, pity I didn't finish the canopy masking though. I'll start again at 9 tomorrow morning
Micha Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 thank God, I'm not the last one ... tonight at least
Paul Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 I started a little later than I wanted today at 10:15. I've just masked and fixed the canopy and also finished off filling and sanding the drop tanks. Ready for some primer now.
Paul Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 On with the blu tack sausages That didn't work out too bad I'm feeling confident about finishing this by 9 pm.
