Job done... my 2nd armour build, kit courtesy of the once generous Dan (Dads203), painted with Xtracrylix paints, some resin stowage, cast-a-coat non-slip coating, turned brass M2 commander's gun barrel (cheers Vince!), and some Accurate Armour carbon fibre antenna masts. Other than that it's OOB, and what a full box Dragon provide. It's a shame this kit is getting thinner on the ground, as it makes a lovely Abrams.

It's not perfect, but overall I'm happy with the outcome. I'm quite pleased with the way the weathering came out, and will be using the technique again :) Comments, critiques welcomed as always.

Well I have to say I really like it man!! Weathering looks great especially the dirt and caked on grime on the sideskirts. My only critique is that the tarp isnt rumpled up enough!! :)

Oh and where are the figures?? Gonna add anything else to the base??

So many questions!! :)

I'll get around the figures soon... I just wanted to kick on with the masters. You know, those ones you've been wanting me to do?:

Thanks matey... they're good kit - Dan put me onto them. It reminded me that I also used some brass antenna bases. Honestly, I'd forget me head if it wasn't... oh bugger. Where did I put it? :hmmm:

That also reminds me I need to stock up on them, as I only have one left.

That is absolutely superb Mike, really nice :thumbsup2:

I'm really going to have to try some armour myself - I've got a couple of kits in my stash so I might give one of them a go; I dare not buy any at the next show 'cos the Mrs would kill me if thought I'd started collecting armour as well :frantic:

Now that turned out nice Mike. You've done a really job in finishing the kit to a high standard.

Whats next we wonder?

That's as good an Abrams as I've seen built, the stowage looks spot on and the weathering is fantastic, love all the additional touches that make a big difference.

Be proud of that one mate, superb.

Kind words... Thanks chaps

(I'm lovin' doing the armour.... you should try it if you've not already)

Nice build, Mike. It's good to see you doing a bit ;)

What next?

Bob

Blimey Bob! Should you be away from the WWI section without a chaperone?

I dunno at the moment. I'm a little bit tempted by the Dragon Morser Karl and Trumpy Fahrgestall (munitions wagon) that I've got, but I'm working on a rather large master that's quite entertaining at the moment. I could possibly start the 109B I picked up the other day, but with Doug's thread still going, it'd make mine look pants :hmmm:

 just noticed I've forgotten to unmask the vision blocks!

Awesome build, lovely weathering. These tank things are quite good fun eh?!

Dead easy, my young Padwan (we need a condescending smiley). Simply brush on a light wet coat of Pigment Fixer (not thinners for waaaaashes), then getting some pigment on your wide flat brush, tap it onto the damp patch until you're happy with the effect. Once it's totally dry, overcoat it with some mist coats of flat varnish to give it some strength. Voila! :smartass:

Very nice Mr. Williams.

I won't enthuse too much in case you are in the workshop.

Narrow door and all that.

Seriously though, that is very nice, and I'm enjoying the armour threads posted here as much as the Cold War and airliner threads.

Chris.

Thanks matey - any chance of you losing your AFV virginity sometime soon? :)

Oi! That's a wee bit harsh :bangin: HAHA

 just pullin' ya leg Bob ;)
