Mike Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Finished this evening, after probably 3 years of hacking & banging. The build thread saga can be found here if anyone's got the stamina Lots of plastic was harmed in the building of this model Thanks for watching, you've been a good audience... try the veal 1
daz greenwood Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Lovely Mike. A sow's ear into a silk purse
dswoofie Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Bloody great result! It's come out fantastic in the end hasn't it Looks like you've got a nice finish on it as well, not the 'refridgerator' white overall. Not an easy thing to do. I look forward to seeing it properly soon. Impressive! Karl.
Paul Bradley Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Splendid work, Mike! Can't wait to see what you do with the B.2.....!
AnonymousER99 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 just proves that a turd can be polished from a Mach poo kit!! Spectacular result Mike!! I am sure you are throwing a bench cleaning party now that its off of it!! Well done olde Bean!!
keefr22 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 (edited) Very, very, very nice (not often I give three verys!!) That's an absolute gem Mike. I really love the finish, just enough weathering to take the starkness out of the white. Top bombing !!! Keef Edited December 16, 2008 by keefr22

Notdoneyet Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Lovely job Mike!! Looks worth all of the hard work you put into it. Never thought that I'd see it finished ...... or have I been transported to an alternate reality where Mike's actually finish models ........ It's good to see that the Gnat wheels have received a lick of paint too. Are you going to finish that this year as well? Ian
bexwh773 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 It's good to see that the Gnat wheels have received a lick of paint too. Are you going to finish that this year as well? Ian Oh come on Ian, its taking the Boss 3 years to finish this one Boss, youve done an amazing job of a complete git of a kit Right, thats enough arsekissing for one year, back to the P*ss taking............. David Knights Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Lovely Mike.A sow's ear into a silk purse Exactly my sentiments.
John Laidlaw Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Thanks for watching, you've been a good audience... try the veal First, the veal isn't so good. The fish, on the other hand... Not in the least bit sorry this is finished. It's brilliant. You deserve a medal for sheer perseverance if nothing else, and the end result was more than worth it. So, what's next...? . p.s. Just in case anybody thinks I'm anything less than completely impressed, you're wrong, wrong, wrong. So there Edited December 17, 2008 by John Laidlaw
Darius at Home Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Mike Excellent work on a real dog of a kit. Looks superb!!! I have a couple of the Mach 2 "Thor" rocket kits in the stash. Appropriate modelling tools for their kits would appear to be a hammer and chisel!!! Darius
AnonymousDFB1 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Very nice, you've done a good job with that Mike.
Graham T Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I am very, very impressed with that! Beautiful work.

David Holman Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Nice one Bill - Will we be seeing it as a full blown article in a future SAMI? David
Mike Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks for the comments folks - much appreciated! Nice one Bill - Will we be seeing it as a full blown article in a future SAMI?David Bill? Who's Bill? Apart from Bill the nice gentleman above that posted before you
Takamota Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Cracking result. Looks like a real bitch of a build.... Bit concerned now as i've been asked to build a Mach 2 Martin Mariner
Skii Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 ooooooh very nice Mr Williams Some nice subtle weathering shenanigans going on there, you seem to have avoided the white-goods look and achieved a sense of scale. Be proud mate, very very good job indeed
AnonymousAA72 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Nice one Bill - Will we be seeing it as a full blown article in a future SAMI?David Hi David, I'm afraid to say that I'm not responsible for this build....though HAD I built it, I most definitely think that I would have submitted it to SAMI!! Thanks for the comments folks - much appreciated! Bill? Who's Bill? Apart from Bill the nice gentleman above that posted before you He's a very, very nice man - by all accounts!!!!!
popeye Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Just awesome - standing ovation ! Now I'm torn between binning my going effort and being motivated to finish, even if it takes some more months..... you have set a target I can just partly try to replicate - congratulations again. Rolf
