Finished this evening, after probably 3 years of hacking & banging. The build thread saga can be found here if anyone's got the stamina ;)

Lots of plastic was harmed in the building of this model ^_^

Bloody great result! It's come out fantastic in the end hasn't it

Looks like you've got a nice finish on it as well, not the 'refridgerator' white overall. Not an easy thing to do. I look forward to seeing it properly soon.

Impressive!

just proves that a turd can be polished from a Mach poo kit!!

Spectacular result Mike!! I am sure you are throwing a bench cleaning party now that its off of it!!

Well done olde Bean!!

Very, very, very nice (not often I give three verys!!)

That's an absolute gem Mike. I really love the finish, just enough weathering to take the starkness out of the white.

Top bombing !!!

Lovely job Mike!! Looks worth all of the hard work you put into it. :clap2::clap2: Never thought that I'd see it finished ...... or have I been transported to an alternate reality where Mike's actually finish models ........

It's good to see that the Gnat wheels have received a lick of paint too. Are you going to finish that this year as well? :analintruder:

First, the veal isn't so good. The fish, on the other hand...

Not in the least bit sorry this is finished. It's brilliant. You deserve a medal for sheer perseverance if nothing else, and the end result was more than worth it.

So, what's next...? ;).

p.s. Just in case anybody thinks I'm anything less than completely impressed, you're wrong, wrong, wrong. So there :bleh:

Excellent work on a real dog of a kit. Looks superb!!!

I have a couple of the Mach 2 "Thor" rocket kits in the stash. Appropriate modelling tools for their kits would appear to be a hammer and chisel!!!

Nice one Bill - Will we be seeing it as a full blown article in a future SAMI?

Cracking result. Looks like a real bitch of a build.... Bit concerned now as i've been asked to build a Mach 2 Martin Mariner :undecided:

ooooooh very nice Mr Williams :)

Some nice subtle weathering shenanigans going on there, you seem to have avoided the white-goods look and achieved a sense of scale.

Be proud mate, very very good job indeed :)

Hi David, I'm afraid to say that I'm not responsible for this build....though HAD I built it, I most definitely think that I would have submitted it to SAMI!!

Thanks for the comments folks - much appreciated! ^_^

He's a very, very nice man - by all accounts!!!!!

Just awesome - standing ovation !

Now I'm torn between binning my going effort and being motivated to finish, even if it takes some more months.....

you have set a target I can just partly try to replicate - congratulations again.
