bungynik Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 It seems that Tanmodel didn't give up from their first kit. They raised the stake by announcing release of all 13 known version of F-5A in a single box! http://inscale.org/pub/index.php?topic=2568.0
Julien Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Now that is good news. Npt sure about the All known bit, Philippines, Taiwan, South Veitnam & Thailand also flew the F-5A Julien
bungynik Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Well, I think that Tanmodel wanted to release all different F-5A versions of aircraft, no matter where they were used. There should be 13 recognized versions of F-5A but more that 13 Air Forces used these.
jenshb Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 That is surprising, and it seems modellers will be spoilt for choice when doing an F-5A. These new pics certainly look a lot more promising than the initial images, but the website doesn't seem to be updated yet. Jens
Jennings Heilig Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Looks very interesting. I think "13 versions" is stretching it. I wouldn't consider different decals on the same airframe a "version". Other than minor detail variations, there wasn't much difference between one F-5A/C and another. I'm excited that at long, long, long last we seem to be on the verge of getting a decent F-5A/B in 1/48!! The old Fujimi and Hawk/Testors kits are well past their prime. J
