F-16 Fighting Falcon

1:100 Revell Easykit

Following hot on the heels of their F-4F Phantom is another addition to the popular Easykit range, this time in the form of an F-16 Fighting Falcon. This particular version represents an aircraft of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) as it appeared at Tigermeet 2010. As with other products in the Easykit range, this 1: 100 scale kit features pre-painted parts and simple, snap-together assembly.

As with the Phantom, this is a simple little kit made up of just 21 parts. The parts are cleanly and crisply moulded and feature heavily engraved panel lines. The paint finish is good quality, although the scheme is more restrained than the Phantom as it features just a decorated tail fin.

As these products are not designed to compete with traditional plastic kits, some of the finer details have been traded for ease of assembly and durability. The undercarriage parts are identical to the Phantom and can also be retracted when the model is flying around the bedroom/kitchen/garden. Other parts such as the missiles and drop tanks are similarly chunky and robust, which should make them resistant to a bit of punishment.

Conclusion

This is another fun kit which I’m sure would make a welcome Christmas pressie for any youngster starting out in the hobby. My little lad is a bit too small for kits at the moment (unlike his Dad, who is a bit too big) but if you know any nippers aged around 6 or upwards, these kits will be ideal. Definitely recommended.
