Paul A H Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 European Brewery 1:76 Airfix The newest addition to Airfix’s excellent range of resin buildings is this impressive European Brewery. As we’ve reviewed a few of Airfix’s new resin buildings on Britmodeller now, the basic set up should be pretty familiar to most of you. Inside the chunky box is a fairly large, two-sided building cast in hard, white resin. Unlike the European Four Storey Shop and the European Town House, this building has no interior detail such as flooring so this will need to be added if it is needed for your diorama. Also include in the box are photo etch brass window frames and clear plastic windows, although given the condition of the building you probably won’t want to add too many of these! As with the other model buildings in the range, detail is pretty sharp, with exposed brickwork and roof tiles being convincingly rendered. Conclusion I’m a bit of a fan of Airfix’s range of resin buildings and this is no exception. They require almost no assembly and will paint up into a nice model straight from the box. With the addition of a few extras such as bricks, rubble and timber and a little weathering, a really special diorama can be created. Review sample courtesy of
