Asap...Folks...believe me what I say...get these while you can when we release them.

Not planning 1/32 or 1/72...these are for the little gems that are the Eduard kit.

I'm pretty sure there is something here for everybody...even those who aren't particularly hot on MiGs right now.

2 sheets...a BUNCH of MiG operators, including one from the Libyan Rebel forces!

Hi Jens

Thanks for the heads up, are they a mix of MF and SMT? I've got a couple of MF's and quite fancy a few of these schemes!

My resolve not be tempted by Eduard's 21 has just crumbled in the face of these. At last - spotty Indian ht ones :-)

1. About a 50/50 mix of MiG-21MF (and equivalent Soviet variants) and MiG-21bis, with a couple of MiG-21Rs in the mix. The bis isn't out yet, but Eduard says early next year (2012). The MFs can be built out of the Eduard box. I suspect Eduard will eventually do an R (so they've said), but I suspect the aftermarket will beat them to it with the wing tip pods and the two types of belly pods.

2. No SMTs. Eduard pretty well covered SMT markings with their kit decal (not well, but covered). Since only a few hundred SMTs were built, and they only flew with the VVS, and there are so few photos of them, it wasn't worth the space (all pretty boring markings anyway).

3. Release sometime in the autumn...

Of course, just about all of these *could* be used on other brands of MiG-21 kits, but why would you? :)

Yes I know its bad. At least if you get these decals then you can get the "weekend" edition of the kit.

Jennings with regard to the R is the old KMC set accurate?

Didn't even know such a thing existed.

KMC did it for the Acedemy kit, new spine & Fin. Came with a resin cockpit, the big belly pod and the wing tip antenna.

These bits were also in the aeromaster boxing of the OEZ MiG-21.

I was looking to do a Cuban R but could find very little info on one.

I've never seen a photo of a Cuban MiG-21R. I'm sure they had at least a few, but photos of Cuban MiGs are rare in any event.

FYI, the MiG-21bis "610" in the Soviet tan/green export scheme was done from a series of specially declassified photos from the USAF, taken from an RC-135 probably in the late 1970s. I had photos of the entire airplane, left, right, top, and bottom that showed the entire camo scheme! I doubt anyone has ever seen that airplane outside of Cuba, and a few folks at Offutt AFB :)

Hi Jens,

This is the best set of -21 decals I have ever seen. One word STUNNING!!! Have you a copy of the two African MiG's books?

Bri.

Glad you like them. Yes, I have the books, as well a LOT of others :) The decals will be out after the holidays..
