Python66 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Hello everybody, I just wanted to show you another of my models. This one was build last winter. The cockpit is a NeOmega and didn't fit at all. It was definitely not designed for the Revell kit. However, I sanded and sanded untill it fitted. The camo is a little different I hardly didn't use decas and the camo was taped off with 1mm tape. A lot of work but I was really happy with the result. Let me know what you think of it. All comments are welcome. Edited July 9, 2011 by Python66 1
Old VG 33 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi This is very well done. The camo is fantastic. What is the difference between the Revell, the Italeri and the Zvezda kits? Patrick
Ian Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Digi-cam on a 1:72 helo... that is VERY brave, but you've carried-it-off. Superb ! Ian
BasicModelling Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Beautiful and very unusual... Well done for getting the camo to look so good..
su27rules Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Superb.....beautiful and very unusual camo,but very nice!!
ChancerUK Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 That is lovely work, brillinat scheme, detailing and weathering.
Rob C Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Absolutely brilliant result from what must have been very time consuming. A lot of patience needed and you've really pulled it off.
Dan Hayward Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Wow, that's beautiful work! Not just the camo (which is amazing), but everything else is nicely done too.
AnonymousDFB1 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Now that's different, I'm not a helo lover, but that's nice
Diego Quijano Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Very eye-catching subject, Python. Looks terrific. Q
Bertie McBoatface Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Wow! You certainly worked for that one! Fine modelling.
Python66 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Thanks for all your comments !! It was time consuming, however it cost me a lot more time (and frustration) to get the resin NeOmega cockpit to fit the airframe than the paintjob. A lot of sanding and dry fitting. It is a beautiful cockpit set from NeOmaga and a big difference with the Revell cockpit. Of course taping and painting the KA-52 cost me a lot of time too. I think I needed about 10 evenings to tape and paint the whole scheme. And two evenings to get the tape off. But it was fun, so much fun I will do another one. Maybe the next winter…. Not sure yet though. Again, thanks for all your comments.
Navy Bird Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Really superb job - and I thought masking the splinter camo on a 1/48 Viggen was difficult. Wow! There are a couple of USN F-18 Super Bugs with an experimental digital camo like this. Seeing your build makes me want to give that a try! Cheers, Bill
