Rod bettencourt Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 This is my Mongram 1/48 Hustler. This aircraft reresents jet from the 305th BW at Bunker Hill AFB. I used Lone Star intakes and exhaust, Fisher Elevons and Mike Grant decals that went on very nice. I used Alclad II Paints and model master Metalizers. Not an easy kit,the worst part was putting on the tail. My goal was to achieve the look of an aircraft sitting alert, not a polished trophy winner. Photo were taken with a Fuji camera set to auto. Thanks for looking Rod 3
mrvr6 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 until i saw the overhead shots i honestly thought this was a walkaround!!
Alex Gordon Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Oh Crumbs! You have pulled a corker there. Not only have you re-created some very well known photos but you have made them indistinguishable from the real thing. Well done sir,an absolute pearler of a job. 11/10.
kev67 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 All I can see is photos of the actual aircraft, where is the model
Moofles Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 ye gods man, thats incredible, so...wheres the models, cheers for showing us the real thing, but this is a modelling forum you know....

M4rk Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Shouldn't this be in 'Real Aviation Photography'? Thats a stunning natural metal finish you've achieved, really top work fella!
Navy Bird Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Just superb, fantastic. Words fail to describe the incredible job you've done. So in addition to chairing the NMF subcommittee, I assume you will also do the same for the Photoshop working group? Cheers, Bill

I must say though no photoshop was used. Strait shots, just with a great back ground for aircraft pics.
Lightningboy2000 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Well, that is ruddy superb modelling and finishing. Especially your photography skills. Recreation of original photos, would be interesting to see them. Stunning work. Martin

Dr.Jellyfingers Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I think I need to see a pic with you holding it, until then that's a real one isn't it ??!! Si.
Vulcanicity Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Superb build and finish, and as others have said, those are incredibly realistic pictures: the blending of the model 's base into the background is seamless.
jacksdad Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Completely gobsmacked. I don't think I have ever seen a model look so much like the real thing. I really cannot compliment you enough. By the way, what did you use for the base? Steve
F-32 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Very very nice, I've always loved the look of the Hustler
