Mike Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 EF-2000 Typhoon Two Seater Exterior Set (Revell) 1:48 Eduard This large set covers the external parts of the airframe plus the wheel bays, bay doors, landing gear and kit supplied weapons. It also includes a set of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) guards for modelling your Revell Typhoon parked up. The exhaust nozzles get a set of afterburner rings and a highly detailed internal surface replacement, which the modeller must roll to fit inside the kit exhaust trunking. A tricky task, but the rest of the set is relatively straightforward by comparison. The rear between the two burner cans also gets a makeover, with extra detail to the protective heat-resistant panels, and the para-brake housing, which is a little simplified on all Revell's Typhoons. The kit gear legs get brake hosing, and the nose wheel gets a PE scissor link, while the bay doors get scale hinges and securing parts, plus a pair of detail inserts that fit around the main gear bay covers. The gear bays themselves get ancillary details. Which should busy up the area nicely. The airbrake gets a lining, and a set of the small sensors and aerials for the underside of the nose cone. A set of etched slime-lights are includes, and a lining for the refuelling probe area. Moving onto the missiles, a set of rear nozzles for the Sidewinders, as well as more scale leading control fins, which come with a PE template to help you align them correctly. The other bombs, missiles and tanks receive various small details to improve their look, and finally, the underside missile recesses get a little detail in case they are left without missiles loaded. Conclusion It's a comprehensive set, and the inclusion of a set of FODs for all the main parts makes for a good value set. Ensure that the main intake FODs are correct for your operator though, as they vary between countries. Full instructions can be found here. EF-2000 Typhoon Two Seater Interior Set (Revell) 1:48 Eduard Let's face it - the kit cockpit on the new Revell two-seat Tiffie is a little bland. This handy set includes a full set of instrument panels and side consoles, three nicely detailed MFD screens, updated HUD (including clear parts) and coaming parts, plus some rudder pedals, footwell details, a mesh insert for the back of the cockpit, rear coaming and importantly, if you are planning on posing the cockpit open, some sidewall details, and sill detail, all of which is sadly lacking on the kit. The set finishes off with some neat canopy sill and roll-over hoop parts, with a set of mirrors for the pilot and co-pilot. The main meat of the cockpit is pre-painted and the whole set is self-adhesive, which will please those that find they get more super glue on themselves than the kit when handling PE. The background grey on the instrument panels has a slightly bluey cast to it, but other than that gripe, the set will raise the quality of your Typhoon cockpit immensely. Full instructions can be found here. EF-2000 Typhoon Two Seater Seatbelt Set (Revell) 1:48 Eduard A full set of pre-painted harnesses and cushions to upgrade both seats on this new kit, which also corrects a few detail issues with the kit parts. Simple to install, and a focal point to every cockpit that can sometimes be tricky to paint. Full instructions can be found here. Review sample courtesy of
