Just ordered one from Model Hobbies, it's a repop and supposedly contains resin and etch, wondering exactly whats inside? Cartograf decals? Cockpit? Weapons? Links/pics...Anyone? It won't be here till next week, I can't find anything anywhere about it and I'm too impatient to wait... :boom:

I think the pic on the Model Hobbies site is the promo art that was touted around the trade fairs a while back. The art Mr Relish has up is the correct one. I was mostly interested in whether they had done anything with the cockpit as thats the weakest part of the original kit, but the box ain't much help... Looks like some weapons and a Litening pod are included though... :hmmm:

The pics I saw of model at trade fairs looked like it was the basic pit I'm afraid. Dont NeOmega do a decent SuE pit? ( I know more cash to be parted with). seems that most model companies rarely do cockpit upgrades to existing molds - gues they reckon that the AM resin guys have th market covered for thoset hat are interested that much.

Just to add to Jonners comments, the Neomega pit is a fantastic bit of resin for the Etendard.

I think the resin parts are stores - LBG, designator, ECM

The etch is I think for the cockpit

I have one on order from Model Hobbies

I wasn't expecting the molds to be changed but was instead thinking more along the lines of a resin or etch pit. I've already got a couple of Airfix Etendards in the stash along with the Carpena sheet. I keep meaning to get hold of the Neomega sets but keep forgetting....I did also think about just scratching them as it's quite a small cockpit, but if they're going to include a decent solution all in one box then I may just pick up a couple of them instead and save some time and cash.

That's what I'm hoping for...

On a related note I found this quite amusing...

Hands up, who wants to tell the winner...

Anyone got the Extratech etch for the Super Etendard? I've been looking for it a long time, but am still without luck. Even a scan of the etch and the instructions would be a great help scratching things like the airbreaks.

Got mine this AM

Here's the instruction page that shows the etch and resin

You can see there is a resin cockpit - which is better than the original but is not a match for NeOmega

It's really rather a nice kit - think I might buy another one!

Edit: The decals leave a bit to be desired - an improvement on Heller of old but only just - look like they will silver

Here's some pics of what is contained in the box,the majority of the plastic is from the original release along with at least one sprue (clear)from the Etandard IV kit

Fuselage halves

Wings

IMG_0301-1.jpg

Horizontal stabilisers as well as the Exocet and centreline fuelpod.

IMG_0299-1.jpg

Drop tanks, both kinds used are included in the kit

IMG_0305-1.jpg

Clear parts, the additional parts are for a reconnaissance pack

IMG_0304.jpg

Resin horizontal stabilisers which are intended to replace the kit parts

IMG_0306.jpg

Etched parts which include plates for the horizontal stabs, airbrakes and GBU-49 fins

IMG_0307.jpg

Resin parts which include 2 x GBU-49 500lb LGBs and a refuelling pod as well as a DAMOCLES targeting pod and an ALKAN expendables dispenser, cockpit tub and instrument panel. I like the bombs but I'm not that impressed with the tub and there's no resin seat

Thanks guys, exactly what I was after. Looks pretty decent, certainly an improvement over the original, there is at least something to work with in the cockpit now. Think I may pick another one up :)

One more question, are the decals in register? I can fix the silvering as long as they're printed OK.

If anybody has this kit, and did not use the CRM280 recce pod part(s), I would like to buy them from you.
