Gekko_1
OK guys, here's the profile for the jet I'll be doing. I'll be building the Trumpeter 72nd scale kit with some aftermarket bits added to it too. I'll be creating a small background story here for this particular jet, however the bulk of the story can be found here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16534 Hopefully I'll be able to add some more to that story soon Cheers Richard. Daniel
Now this is good, I have followed all of the other thread, and I am looking forward to seeing one of the profiles make it onto a model! Dan

Gekko_1
I've decided to change the profile a little. I quite like the idea of low-vis roundels to match the fin, plus I boosted the contrast of the camouflage scheme. I'm working on the paint mixes for this scheme and so far, using Gunze Sangyo colours, I've chosen H64 RLM Dark Green 71 for the dark green, H336 Hemp for the light tan, although a percentage of white will need to be added, and H58 Interior Green for the mid green. I may add 10% of the Hemp mix in with the H58? We'll see how things go once I do a test piece. Here are the bits that I'll be adding They are the Aires 7206 - BAC EE Lightning F Mk. 2/6 cockpit set and Aires 7213 - BAC Lightning F.6/F.2A exhaust nozzles. And very nice they are too! Cheers Richard.
TaiidanTomcat
I like the new adjusted profiles and I am intrigued to see how your paint mixing goes. One of the many things I love about your profiles is how you incorporate the flags into the fins, it looks great in high and low vis and its even better when you extend the colors to the anti glare like these: Edited August 9, 2010 by TaiidanTomcat

Enzo the Magnificent
Now that's interesting! What's the story behind that?
Daniel
I have to say, I prefer the colour roundels, though the contrast change is better... I have built this kit with the Aires cockpit, and it is great detail for 1/72. Dan
Gekko_1
Now that's interesting! What's the story behind that? Hi Enzo, no story for this one as yet, but I'm guessing that the Drakens and Hawkeye were downed over Africa somewhere! Cheers Richard.
Gekko_1
I have to say, I prefer the colour roundels, though the contrast change is better... then there's this possibility too! Richard.
Daniel
I like this best: But have to be honest, this is probably more 'realistic'... Sigh, do we have to be realistic... Dan (Undecided)
gishuk
the high vis coloured tail one is sweeeeeet. if we had a public vote that would be where mine went, not that the other one looks bad, but thats just an extra level of cool
Gekko_1
OK, we have a problem! Now I'm not sure which one to build? What do you think? Cheers Richard.
RussTnailZ
I like 1 and 4 the best but i can see number 3 being very popular. There all great really and i dont envy you having to choose one if all else fails do them all Russ
Warris
I'm also liking 1 and 4, more so the darker #

dylan the rabbit
No 3 mate... What if's do have to have a certain level of fantasy about them, and what a bloody nice colour scheme to boot.
PaulR
OK, we have a problem! Now I'm not sure which one to build? What do you think? Cheers Richard. I think no. 3 has to be the way forward - very African in style, with bold, bright colours! Paul
tropical thistle
Richard, I also think No. 3 is the way to go! Without hijacking this build thread, my favourite scheme is Tom
Daniel
I'd be happy with 3... Dan
wadeocu
I like 2 - you get the 'operational' look with a splash of color for the insignia - very plausible for an early 80s operational scheme in my mind. Nice project!
Ian
Gotta be #3 - Would be rude not to ! Ian
