according to the email I've just received. So is the Grumman Widgeon/Gosling. Not on their website as yet, but I'll be getting my order off as soon as they show up.

Edited to reflect ongoing non-availability!

Gentlemen... let the rivet counting begin!

I'm looking forward to the reviews.

I received a call from my preferred Tyneside Airfix stockist today - he's holding two for me when he gets them. He tells me that he's chased Hornby and the Hurricanes haven't left the Hornby/Airfix warehouse yet. Modelzone in Newcastle also didn't have stock as of this lunchtime, but they do have them on order. Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Kit Box in Whitley Bay perhaps?

Nope, Gladston's in North Shields.

I had a call from my friendly plastic peddler earlier today - he's been told by Hornby to expect stock around the first week of March. I'm just passing on what I was told...

What's the custom around here? Do we shoot the messenger?

The Grumman Widgeon/Gosling kit hasn't surfaced yet either, which was also noted in the OP's post. So I'm idly speculating that someone at Hornby pressed the email send button a little prematurely and got us all excited.

I was told yesterday that the initial run was all taken in customer pre-orders and that's why we'll be waiting until March for the 2nd run. Tosh. If that's the case, don't you think Hannants and/or Modelzone would have stock, being two of the biggest model resellers in the country? Nope, I think someone hit 'send' prematurely, or the Hurri has been sent back to China/India to retool the jet jockey pilot into a more appropriate Biggles-like type. Which would be a real shame; I could handle some jet jockey pilots to replace the Biggles-like type in the Harriers!

I'm glad in a way, because I wouldn't have had the money if they'd arrived when they first said. I will have sufficient disposable income in March, though. And Hurricanes are good. I could never have too many Hurricanes...
