This Albacore kit was originally my FAA group build entry; unfortunately, due to other commitments I was not able to finish it on time. Anyway, during my Christmas holidays I worked on it hardly and finished it in last few days.

BF 723 is 826 NAS machine operating in Hal Far, Malta in 1942/43.

MPM kit built with few addditions, like modified twin gun mount, ASV aerials and other extra details. Markings came from Tally-Ho and Xtradecals sheets.

I would like to express my thanks to Mr. Tony O'Toole for his excellent article in Model Aircraft Monthly (July 2007) which became the main reference material and my major driving force.

Stunning and another rarity on the modelling front. Those wires on the wings are incredible, can't believe this is 1/72 scale.

You lie! It can't be 1/72! :o

I would love to read a write-up on this build.

that is absolutely stunning - love it!

At risk of sounding like a sycophant, I never tire of looking at your work and this one is no different.

As mentioned, difficult to believe it's 72nd.

Many thanks for nice feedback gents!

Ad torpedo: the kit's item is a bit crude, so I rebuilt it using plasticard.

TonyOT: thanks again, that photo is on the very first page of the article above.

Cheers and Happy New Year to all!

Another masterpiece - have you ever built a kit that didn't turn out to be a stunner?
