haneto Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Hi,folks! Finally I found time for photographing this model and the weather in Shanghai helped me a lot today. But the battery of my DC just ran out during taking photos. So more will come later! This is the very famous, old, crude 1/144 Airfix kit, dated 1966. If you are interested in the in-progress thread, here is the link: Trident 1E, 1/144 Airfix in CAAC scheme Trident served in CAAC from 70s and retired in 90s early. Especially in 70s,the CAAC is actually under demand of PLAAF. And this one,"256" is the customized airliner of Vice Chairman Biao LIN,who lost his life on this plan due to an unsuccessful landing in Mongolia, when he tried to defect to Soviet Union on September 13,1971. Here are the finished pics~~~ More to come! Hope you enjoy. Yufei 1

woody37 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Have you got any more models to share with us ? I really enjoyed seeing this build, it would be rude not to show us more !!!
David H Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Beautiful job, Yufei! Easily the best-rendered Trident i've ever seen. A lot of airliner model builders just concentrate on building the kit from the box and focusing on the decals. You go the extra mile and add the small details that warrant closer inspection. Again a truly great model of a airliner that deserved to do better. Kind regards, david
Kev1n Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 You go the extra mile and add the small details that warrant closer inspection.Kind regards, david Its defo an eye catcher and I love this model - at the risk of hijacking the thread a wee bit, have you seen mine ??? just curious
andy wood Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Very nice indeed. I especially like the last photo. I did not know the nose gear was offset
garryrussell Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Very nice indeed. I especially like the last photo. I did not know the nose gear was offset It was offset to save space by retracting sideways. This was due to the space in front of and behind the nosegear bay being taken up with 'tanks' as they called them, full of electronics for the autoland. Airfix missed this and centred the nosegear on the model. Garry
haneto Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Thanks so much for your nice feedback, guys! Have you got any more models to share with us ? Its defo an eye catcher and I love this model - at the risk of hijacking the thread a wee bit, have you seen mine ??? just curious Just check it out and that's incredible!
