magman2 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hi all found this on the web enjoy The ACADEMY 1/35 KIT
Richard E Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Any idea what the structure on the rear left hand corner of the turret is: I'm guessing some high-tech comms gear or an anti-IED kit?
daz greenwood Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Knowing the IDF it's probably some form of IED countermeasures gear. I'll do some digging.

Richard E Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Tamiya Battle System Ahhhhh - it's a first generation R2D2 droid.....
Jim Carswell Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Actually that Tamiya sensor may not be too far off. It's rumoured to be part of an active missle system, I would guess a detector similar to the laser warning recievers Canada has on their LAV-III's and Coyotes, but in a more sophisticated setup. Could be just the detector - hard to tell if there's anything else like countermeasure pods on the tanks. Being termed the 'probe droid' on some dg's! Jim
GreenDragon Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Here's a link to Cybermodeler's MRC announcement of the Merkava IV today. http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/news09012...ws090120b.shtml The equipment may be the Rafael Trophy system or the Amcoram LWS-2 Laser Warning System. Dosen't look like you get the ball and chains that hang off the turret. Paul Harrison
