Spence Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Hi Guys - I'm not sure that this should really have it's own thread - but, well, it is 'In Progress..'!!! As you can see, I'm now building the much vaunted 1/48 TSR-2 for MIS and these are the first shots that I've taken of it. I have to say that this really is a fine kit and fits together really well so far - unlike it's 1/72 cousin. Detail is amazing too; just take a look at the cockpit and wheelwell/bomb bay assemblies to see what I mean by that! Anyhows, here she is in all her glory - I hope you enjoy seeing the model in bits and that I don't have too many of you finding my house in the middle of the night to take a closer look... AnonymousA667 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Spence you sod, we will now have Skii mooning about the place with his tongue dragging along the ground, dribbling everywhere! That looks right neat and although I said I wouldn't get one I'm weakening after seeing those pics. Look out for late night callers.... peebeep
Mike Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I noticed the bomb bay/wheel bay detail on the sprues & the test built at Telford, and was very pleased with the level of detail they'd managed to cram in, given the limitations of injection moulding. The cockpit looks quite nice too, if a little "heavy" compared to resin. I'm so glad to hear they've listened to the criticisms of the 1:72 kit & improved the fit... I'm looking forward to January very much
AnonymousA667 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I knew this would happen. Pull yourself together Skii, only a few weeks wait! peebeep
bexwh773 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 mwaaaaaahhhhh !!!! Lifejackets on everywhere Johns dribbling Bex
AnthonyWan Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Wow...that looks much much better than the smaller one! Edited November 27, 2008 by AnthonyWan
GreenDragon Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Well that's me decided to get two at least. Looking very nice Spence! Paul Harrison
Nev Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I spent a couple of hours staring up that backside of the built-up test shot @ Telford so I know how good this looks, but even so its nice to see some WIP pics
Daniel Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Well with this and the 1/24 Mosquito, are we having a "Airfix New Release 2009" groupbuild? Stop them all sitting in peoples stashes, (and I'll be able to copy all of your good ideas!) Dan
Fea Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Ayup All... I saw the test shot too at Telford, and was sorta impressed, but the shots Spence has given us are well fan-bloody tastic... it looks well better in bits ! minus all that black stuff in the panel lines... i think an order is in order.... Thanks for the pics, Spence... Edited November 27, 2008 by Fea
Spence Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 I think I'm in love!! Soooo - you like my TRS2 eh..?! Here's another shot, this time of the cockpit in place. As you can see, the sidewalls are rather bare and could do with a little extra detail - nothing that a little rod and strip can't fix methinks... Laters! Spence
Owen Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 That looks lurvely, can't wait to get my mittens on a kit or three. Good luck, can't wait for the end result!
dswoofie Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Oh I am so looking forward to this one... Ever since seeing the sprues at Yeovilton I've wanted to start work on one! You're a lucky boy Spence! Karl.
Overkiller Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I hate you sooooo much...... Lucky so and so, can't wait for my pre-order, I'll be watching this with interest Duncan

Roland Pulfrew Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I'm with busdriver; I also have 2 on order. It looks like it is going to be great kit. Thank you Airfix! Spence, Any chance of a few shots of the undercarriage and bang seats?
atdb27 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Two on order from the local model shop!!! Now I've seen it here, I can't wait!!! Ditto me to. 2009 can't come soon enough please. OOB looks like it will be rather better than it's smaller cousin! Now who will be 1st with a RED ARROWS WIF? Adrian
