FoxbaT73 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Hi, this is my last project, it took me about a year to complete this model. Almost every aftermarket upgrade kits which are available for this kit were used: -Nautilus wooden deck -Eduard VII/C PE kit -White Ensign models type VII flood, drain and vent holes PE kit -Griffon FLAK-guns high detail kit -Modelbrass type VII PE kit -Archer transfers type VII rivet decal set I opened al the floodholes, added ribs inside the hull above the saddletanks, remade the railings from 0.5mm brass wire, scratchbuild the whole exhaust system wich lies beneath the deck, `oil canned` the hull, replaced about 800 rivets wich were sanded away, corrected the `bull nose` and corrected all the faults in this kit (wich are many....) Shar2 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 that's blooming impressive. Excellent work and very useful for those of us who have yet to build their big boats. 1

triumphfan Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Absolutely off the scale. Really impressive work, especially on the hull. Even my Mrs thought this was incredible! Steve.
Chris W. Balmer Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Holy cow!! thats some Boot... absolutely stunning! The weathering on this is some of the best I've seen on here.. and those PE parts on the conning tower? Blimey!!
Flemming Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Impressive. Exellent work. I like the rusty anchor - so real. Great stuff... Flemming
HL-10 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 That's stunning! The rust effect, especially on the anchor, is cracking! I like that very much
Andy K Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 That is a spectacular build and of all the details I like the most it is the rusty anchor. Superb modelling!
FoxbaT73 Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Thanks everyone Here are some more details from the boat.. Scratchmade exhaust system (can be seen through the floodholes) Scratchmade oxygen tanks, also underneath the wooden deck Karel Edited November 4, 2012 by FoxbaT73 2
Andy K Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 That paint chipping in the last picture is just great.
Doug Rogers Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 That's it...game over man, game over!! That's......impressive!
turnerdad Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Absolutely fantastic. Love the anchor especially!
Julien Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Very nice indeed, looks pretty realistic to an ex sub builder. One tiny thing those would be high pressure air tanks not oxygen. Julien
FoxbaT73 Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 Julien offcourse you are right ; i thougt oxygen had the same meaning as high pressure air.. Karel
HL-10 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It looks so real! The wear and tear on the model is some of the most realistic I have ever seen! Awesome work!
nick Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That's the most realistic painting I have ever seen, incredible model, very, very impressive, thanks for sharing. Nick
kev67 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 You should give a tutorial on how you achieved the worn effect, it's very convincing
Michaelvk Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That is by far the best looking sub I have ever seen and further more: I quit.
FoxbaT73 Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks again for the positive comments!
