airhead Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I'm putting my faith in you WW1 buffs for any kind of reference pictures or drawings of this engine as was used in the Hannover CLIIIa. My searches have only resulted in one dubious digital render and I already have the Windsock data file on the Hannover. Seems like there isn't much left after 90+ years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Alfisti Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Hi,try this link to http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1918/1918%20-%200991.html?search=Hannover CL.III,its the Flight Global site for the archives of Flight magazine. HTH..........Dave.
airhead Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Thanks Dave, I had already come across the pictures in my searches. Nice to have the accompanying text. Unfortunately no new information on the Argus.
John Aero Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I have two photo views (front and side)of the 190HP Argus and a dimensioned three view of the ASIII,170 HP. John
airhead Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Hi John, there probably are plenty of similar features on all types so if you wouldn't mind sharing them that would be very helpful. I learned from the article referred to by Alfisti that the Argus is actually made by Opel. It seems there's at least one survivor in the London Science museum. And here's the rest I found of which I'm not sure about the type: And someones handy work.
Alfisti Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Hi,found some info that may be of use whilst browsing the web on an R/C site,it includes loads of line drawings from French and German publications,http://www.finemodelworks.com/arizona-models/reference/ Found a line drawing of the test tower and railway carriage used for aerodynamic testing of full size aircraft, would make for a fantastic diorama. Dave.
