airdaniel Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Hi All! I just finished with the newest 1:144 kit. This was the Czech published AZ Model's Jak-40 in CSA colours.. That was areally-really bullshit kit unfortunately. I not recommend it for anybody except someone likes this type very much... That's why the building's result beacame same too.. :-( You must to see it with a simplifier eyeglass. This was a "must to do" job during the Olympic games :-)... But my next bird will be better i think .... (Tu-144 from the ICM) Let's fun! Cheers Daniel 1
Jessica Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Anyone can do a good job with a good kit. To do a good job with a nasty kit takes a lot of patience and talent. That looks really good, especially since I know where you started from
stevesig Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Still looks good - well done. I must admit to not liking the look of this kit when I saw the sprues. Edited August 10, 2012 by stevesig
garryrussell Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Very nice I like the subtle dirt on the wings, just enough to really look lifelike and get away form the plain grey. Well done
airdaniel Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Thank You- thank You... I always glad to introduce my weathered and really used russian birds likes in the real soviet era... If someones likes these birds it makes me additional pleasure...
upnorth Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Very nicely done in spite of the kit's shortcomings. I had the military version of that kit, but after seeing how wrong it looks in some ways I simply lost all enthusiasm for building it and passed it onto another modeler.
stevesig Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Can't get enough of 'real soviet era' types and now we are getting them from the manufacturers there is no excuse for not building.... 1
Viking Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Nice job Daniel, it looks good in that livery. I had been wondering about getting one of these but I think I'll put the money into another Zvezda Tu-134 now! Cheers John

That looks really good, especially since I know where you started from If you REALLY want to earn your modeling stripes, try doing the Yak-40 from the ancient Diwi kit. I think I'd rather do this type in 1/72nd; maybe AModel will favor us with one in due course! Andy
airdaniel Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 Thank You Guys again! Now I'm working on a Tu-144 between my shifts where we try to do a serviceable G-CELZ after "D" check for JET2 . It seems to be the final result will be more much better than this Yak...
