landyshah Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Hi all My 3rd post - the old Airfix B-type bus with a scratchbuilt conversion to pigeon loft. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome 9
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 That is some impressive scratch building, looks like you have been modelling for a while
AndyC Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Fab build Great use for that old kit and superb scratch building to boot
Mikey58 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 WOW-that is one amazing and imaginative build-fantastic!Great attention to detail-well done! Mike
landyshah Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks guys ...but I just noticed I posted in the non-military section!! Could the mods be so kind as to move this thread there? Thank you in advance
kev67 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 That is rather good, nice to see something different, are you going to put it in a diorama
landyshah Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Thanks guys! are you going to put it in a diorama Yes, already have, a simple vignitte. Afraid no pictures of that at moment Edited July 25, 2012 by landyshah
garryrussell Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Excellent What did you use in the incredibly realistic 'chicken wire'.
landyshah Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Cheers everyone. The chicken netting was made from a mesh used to wrap apples! I had hoarded some of it and it seemed to be just right. Some areas were double patche to look like "repairs"
Foghorn Leghorn Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Not only a damn good model but an original idea as well
The Sage Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Hi Landyshah, That is one cracking conversion and finish Cheers Andy Edited July 25, 2012 by The Sage
GordonD Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Nice piece of work. I can see Captain Blackadder (and Speckled Jim on the roof) but where's Baldrick?
Pete H Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Brilliant!!!!! Something very different but very evocative of its time!!!! Regards Pete
landyshah Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Muchas gracias fellas This is extent of the mods: Interior was detailed on a best guess, no refs I could find The pigeons were from Hauler - they are 1/35th but the difference is negligible. I can see Captain Blackadder (and Speckled Jim on the roof) but where's Baldrick? I kept thinking of the series all the time I was building it! 2
