woody37 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 USN Carrier Deck 1942-44 1:72 Eduard Following on from the Akagi deck reviewed by Paul, a welcome addition to the range is this generic USN wooden carrier deck. The detailing is very fine indeed giving an excellent wood / steel structure effect. Measuring just 133mm x 110mm, it's size makes it somewhat limited as to what you could fit into a diorama around an aircraft, but it would make a great base to one of the single seat fighters from that iconic period. Research leads me to believe that the decks were in fact painted blue, not left in a natural wood colour, so if this concerns you, a treat from the airbrush topped with a panel wash would enhance the sheet nicely. Conclusion Another fine idea from Eduard. If you want to show off your models with something other than a plain base, this is a great addition to bring the build alive. It is best used applied to a firm base due to it being quite flexible. Review sample courtesy of
